As the summer dwindles down, a number of Indie pictures will be released on DVD including Eduardo Verastegui and Alejandro Gomez Monteverde's "Little Boy."

Weekly Highlights

"Little Boy" - The biggest release of the week is Open Road's faith-based film starring Kevin James, Emily Watson, Tom Wilkinson and David Henrie. The movie tells the story of a little boy who does whatever it takes to end World War II so he can reunite with his father. The film opened in April to bad reviews and flopped, making a mere $6 million. As Latin Post previously wrote, the film "Featured good work from its cast but lacked a compelling story." Open Road Films hoped it could relive the success of "God's Not Dead" and "Heaven Is for Real." Both of those films came out at the same time and went on to be box office hits. However, "Little Boy" came out at a time when there was an over-saturation of faith-based films. Still, the movie should expect to generate returns on home video especially due to its A-list cast. Additionally, it should continue to attract the Bible Belt community.

"The Riot Club" - Having premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year, Lone Scherfig's latest film had a short-lived theatrical run but scored solid reviews. The movie, starring Sam Claflin, Max Irons and Douglas Booth, tells the story of two first-year students at Oxford University who join the infamous Riot Club. On the night of their induction their reputations are destroyed. While in theaters, IFC Films also released the drama on demand where it performed relatively well and stirred conversation. While it had limited appeal theatrically, the movie should attract younger audiences as well as fans of Scherfig, who was part of the Dogme 95 movement.

Other Releases

Other releases include the Indie hits "Lambert & Stamp" and "5 to 7." "Lambert & Stamp" premiered at Sundance where it scored rave reviews and tells the story of the founders of the band The Who.

"5 to 7" stars Anton Yelchin, Frank Langella and Glenn Close and tells the story of an aspiring novelist who stars a relationship with a married woman he can only see in the evenings.

A number of TV shows will also get releases including "Atlantis" Season 2 and "Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem."

A "Grey's Anatomy" box set of Season 11 will also be released alongside "Mike and Molly." James Spader's "The Blacklist" Season 2 will be released as well as "Once Upon a Time" Season 4.

For classic movie lovers, Francois Truffaut's "Day for Night" will be released on Criterion. The movie was released in 1973 and won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film. The movie was also nominated for Best Director, Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Screenplay. The film also received nominations at the BAFTA awards and the Golden Globes.
