"The Walking Dead" fans that have been eager to see the new companion series "Fear The Walking Dead" can be super excited to see the first three minutes of the premiere episode, which debuts on AMC this Sunday, Aug. 23.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the first three minutes of the series, which appears to be only available via Facebook, jumps right into the zombie epidemic at its earliest stage. As it turns out, that initial short teaser-trailer that showed actor Frank Dillane running from something unseen, was among the first moments in the series that sets a chain of events into motion, events that are the beginning of the end.

The series opens up with Dillane's character Nick waking up in what appears to be an abandoned church. It now seems to resemble a place for youth and drug addicts to use when they want to party.

When he awakes, he starts searching for his girlfriend Gloria. But when he finds her, that is when the real horror begins. As it turns out, she is "Patient Zero" for "The Walking Dead" and her bites are what lead to the destruction of civilization and eventually, the end of the human race.

With humans dropping down a notch on the food chain, the Walkers will soon inherit the Earth and savagely seek out human food.

In the clip, Nick slowly makes his way down a set of stairs where he hears screams. He thinks that it is his girlfriend and discovers a body that had been bitten. He soon realizes that finding his girlfriend was the last thing he wanted to do.

The series will make its debut next Sunday on AMC and will run for six episodes before the season six premiere of "The Walking Dead." The goal is for the franchise to have a year-round "Walking Dead" series going on the network for avid fans.
