By all accounts, Vancouver experienced Miley Cyrus on a new level. The kickoff show for her Bangerz world tour amazed everyone and dazzled the audience at the Rogers Arena. Cyrus sang her heart out among furry animals, prancing joints and national monuments and showed everyone that she can indeed sing, a point she aimed to prove in this concert.

It all began with a tongue. Cyrus appeared on the stage sliding down an inflatable tongue, according to Rolling Stone. Before her entrance, an image of Miley was projected from the screen, her mouth opened and the tongue rolled out. But the showmanship did not end there. Various songs had their own outifts and accompanying dancers in costume. USA Today reports when Cyrus sangParty in the USA, her back up dancers donned costumes that resembled American monuments like the Statue of Liberty and the Liberty Bell. Cyrus's outfits stole the show.

According to Rolling Stone, Miley had enlisted a group of fashion designers, such as Marc Jacobs, Roberto Cavalli and Jeremy Scott, to design her outfits for the tour. The line of glittering, skin-tight one-pieces were quintessentially Miley, recalling her VMA show with Robin Thicke. However, unlike that show, this was all her and she showed it with her voice.

Aside from shiny outfits and humping a back-up dancer dressed as a joint, Cyrus displayed her artistic stamina as a singer by not lip-synching or vocal "doubling," Rolling Stone assumes. The article praises Cyrus's performance, applauding her ability to sing well and hitting all the notes on point while also entertaining. USA Today also praised her singing, though remained as skeptical of its authenticity.

Overall, the first show was a hit. The Swedish duo Icona Pop opened up the show and got the crowd ready. We'll see if the rest of the world is ready for this version of Miley. But at least one Arizona boy will be ready for Miley.
