Flappy Bird quickly emerged from app stores as one of the most viral and addictive games ever, but it came crashing down just as fast as it rose to fame.

Although its creator removed Flappy Bird from app stores -- citing the game's addictive features and other issues -- gamers still have options if they would like to play something similar. However, we will not be seeing any kinds of games that have the word "Flappy" in the title after Apple and Google app stores reportedly put an end to any incoming games that contain the word from the infamous game. However, the already-existing games featuring the word Flappy are still available for people to download in Apple's App Store. They appear to have been grandfathered in before the new word ban was implemented, just like the way Flappy Bird was grandfathered in for gamers who already had the game on their devices before it was removed from the app store.

Some of Flappy Bird's top spinoffs on Apple's app store include Splashy Fish, Jumpy Bee, City Bird, Flappy Super Hero, and Retro Super Hero. There are many other games with similar titles as developers look to capitalize on the success of Flappy Bird.

The initial rumors about Flappy Bird being removed from App Stores were started when the game's creator, Dong Nguyen, said on Feb. 8 that he would be taking the game down the next day.

"I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore," he said. "It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore," he said in another separate tweet.
