NBC's The Voice will welcome returning judges Shakira and Usher this season. Original judge CeeLo Green, on the other hand, will not be returning for season 7 or any future seasons of the reality singing competition show.

CeeLo Green, who alongside Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton made The Voice a hit in its first season, revealed a simple message to his fans on The Ellen Degeneres Show: "I'm not coming back, guys."

"I'm going to continue my relationship with NBC," he explained. "I have a television show development deal with them as well and hopefully some other talk show opportunities for later in the year, but yeah, I'm going to miss The Voice too."

CeeLo is the first out of six The Voice judges to officially resign.

"I don't want to wear out my welcome there," he continued. "You know what I'm saying? I have so many other things that I want to do. I haven't released an album in four years. I'm almost done with my album."

The "Forget You" singer will tour alongside Lionel Richie on his All the Hits All Night Long tour starting May 29 of this year.

"Meanwhile, NBC and I plan to continue our relationship with several new co-ventures including a new music show, while we also explore our ideas for me to create and host a new show of my own," CeeLo said in a statement released today. "...The Voice has given me all the altitude and incentive to do just that."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, CeeLo signed a first-look deal with NBC in 2012 under his production company, Emerald Productions. The deal gives him the opportunity to develop, produce and star in scripted and unscripted projects.

"Cee Lo Green has been an instrumental part of the success of The Voice, and we deeply appreciate all his contributions," Paul Telegdy, NBC president of alternative and late-night programming, said in a statement. "We're looking forward to working with him on other upcoming projects that will tap into both his musical and entertainment expertise."
