Bradley Beal is one of the most promising scorers in the NBA right now. He is also set to become a restricted free agent next season if his side and the Washington Wizards can't agree on a contract extension before Oct. 31, as reported by Rant Sports.

According to CSN Mid-Atlantic, there has been no progress between the Wizards and Beal's camp. The report said that Beal wants a maximum extension, but the Wizards aren't willing to commit that kind of money, especially with their free agency plans for next season.

Washington DC native and current Oklahoma City Thunder superstar headlines the free agency names in 2016. The Wizards wants Beal to prove his worth, take less money and help in pitching a great scenario for Durant's arrival.

The NBA cap space is set for a big rise next season and Beal wants to follow his 2012 draft mates such as Anthony Davis and Damian Lillard, who received big contracts. According to ESPN, the New Orleans Pelicans gave Davis a five-year, $145-million contract while the Portland Trail Blazers signed Lillard to a five-year, $129-million deal, as per Bleacher Report.

The Wizards knows that Beal is nowhere near that worth, but Bleacher Report notes that the Wizards are also aware that he and John Wall forms one of the best backcourts in the NBA today. The 22-year-old shooting guard is a streaky scorer and shooter and has shown his skills in Washington's two playoff runs in 2014 and 2015; however, he is also prone to injuries.

In a separate report from CSN Mid-Atlantic, during his three full seasons, Beal suffered three stress reactions in his lower right leg in three different spots of his fibula. He also had minor injuries on his left wrist, right ankle, left ankle and right big toe.

Washington would probably give Beal his max contract for next season if he can prove that he can make it an entire season without any injuries. Rotoworld reports that restricted free agency may be the best option for Beal if he wants to receive a max-money deal.

According to Dan Schultz of Rant Sports, Beal has the potential to become great. He can become one of the best perimeter threats in the NBA after he showed up in last year's playoffs averaging 23.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.6 steals while shooting 41 percent from the field and 36 percent from the three-point area.

Basketball Insiders reports that Beal is a max player because of his potential, production and the increase in the NBA salary cap next season.
