Warner Bros. has announced Christopher Nolan's next film.

While the studio did not release a single detail about the movie, the studio announced that the new film will be out in 2017. It isn't a shock that details are kept under wraps as Nolan usually keeps his projects secret and details are rarely released.

The studio, however, did announce that it will fully distribute the film both domestically and worldwide. The studio has collaborated with Nolan on most of his films including "Inception" and "The Dark Knight" trilogy. However, it teamed up with Paramount last year for the release of "Interstellar."

The studio also noted that it will open the film on July 21 alongside Universal's "Pitch Perfect 3" and an untitled animated film from Fox. The date is not unusual as "Inception," "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises" all opened in that time period.

Nolan is an Academy Award-nominated director who broke out in 1999 for his Slamdance film "Following." He followed up the movie with "Memento" which went on to be nominated for two Academy Award nominations. In 2002 he made his first studio film, which was a remake of "Insomnia." That film was received with critical acclaim.

In 2005 Nolan went on to make "Batman Begins," which was a critical and box office success. The film was also nominated for an Oscar and was followed up in 2006 by "The Prestige." That film was also a critical hit and was nominated for two Oscar nominations.

In 2008 Nolan's biggest box office hit came out. The film was "The Dark Knight" and it became a critical sensation. The film went on to win Heath Ledger an Oscar and also became the reason the Academy decided to expand its Best Picture category to 10 films.

Nolan followed up "The Dark Knight" with "Inception," which was a surprise summer hit and the director's first Best Picture nominee. It also gave Nolan his second writing nomination. In 2012, Nolan concluded "The Dark Knight" series with "The Dark Knight Rises," and in 2014 the director released "Interstellar." The film was a box office disappointment but it still managed to get five Oscar nominations.
