Recent reports suggest that another character will not survive the finale of "El Señor de los Cielos," which has become one of Telemundo's highest-rated series for its dramatic story lines and lack of sympathy for killing off characters.

The series, currently in Season 3, follows the life of a drug dealer named Aurelio Casillas, played by Rafael Amaya, who wants to become the most respected and powerful drug lord and is wanted by Mexican authorities. Although not necessarily a good man, Casillas is the protagonist of the series and is to blame for several deaths throughout the show.

The most recent death to shock viewers was that of Carmen Villalobo's character, Leonor Ballesteros, also known as "La Colombiana," who was rumored to possibly be killed off from the series.

However, according to Latin Times, there is another major death to come this season. José María "El Chema" Venegas, played by Mauricio Ochmann, and who is based on real cartel leader "El Chapo," may be killed off during the season finale. Rumors began when Ochmann spoke out publicly about possibly not returning to the series for Season 4.

Even with a highly anticipated finale still to come in a few weeks, on Sept. 21, news about the upcoming up season is already well underway.

Actress Bibi Gaytán recently announced that she will be joining the cast during Season 4 of the series, reported TVNotas.

The actress will be portraying a character named Soledad Torreblanca. Not too many details have been revealed about the role, but the news got many fans excited since Gaytán hasn't been in any television shows since 2008, when she starred in "En Nombre del Amor."

"El Señor de los Cielos" has had quite a successful year, winning several awards, including Best Series, at the 2015 Premios Tu Mundo, and was officially confirmed for a fourth, fifth and sixth season earlier this year.
