Jane Villanueva will face more drama in her home life and love life when Season 2 of "Jane the Virgin" kicks off next month.

Season 1 ended with a bang, as Jane, played by series star Gina Rodriguez, gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Mateo, who was then kidnapped by Sin Rostro. Meanwhile, Petra (Yael Grobglas) took Rafael's (Justin Baldoni) swimmers home from the fertility clinic. Plus, Jane's parents, Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil), admitted that they got drunk and eloped in Last Vegas.

In the next season, showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman confirmed that "Jane will get married," however she didn't reveal whether the new mother will marry the father of her child or her long term boyfriend. In fact, Urman hinted that there is even a chance that Jane might fall for another guy. "There's a big development," she told Entertainment Weekly.

Despite her messy love life and new baby, the sassy Latina will remain focused on her career, Urman teased.

"Jane's big emotional story will be how does one becomes a mother and still retain one's sense of self and accomplish all the things she wanted to, especially as a young woman who hadn't planned to have a child so quickly," Urman explained. "That is going to be something that Jane will continue to struggle with throughout the season."

The executive producer also confirmed that Bridget Regan's Sin Rostro will play a significant role in the new season.

"You will hear from her," says Urman. "Sin Rostro does come back, though there are many twists and turns along the way."

In addition, viewers can expect to see the series incorporate prevalent political and cultural issues like immigration.

"We're really going to dive into Alba's lack of a green card situation. We're going to tackle that, what it means, and what choices there are," said Urman

Meanwhile, Jane will continue to straddle both her American and Latino upbringing. "We're going to see how one can raise a bilingual child. And with the baby's baptism, we'll see how the traditions handed down from her grandmother to her mother, and then to her are going to be important," said the EP.

Furthermore, fans can look forward to an episode with a "Bachelorette" theme, as Jane will be featured in a "Bachelorette" style rose ceremony.

Season 2 of "Jane the Virgin" will premiere on Monday, Oct. 12 EDT on The CW.
