EuroBasket 2015 Live Stream & Schedule: Spain vs Greece, France vs Latvia Quarterfinals Preview
Four teams will resume their bid to earn a ticket to the 2016 Rio Olympics when they play in the quarterfinals of EuroBasket 2015 on Tuesday.
Spain vs. Greece, 12:30 p.m. ET
Spain and Greece, two of the favorites to win the title this year, will collide in the first quarterfinal match of the tournament at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille, France.
Spain booked a spot in the quarterfinal after scoring an 80-66 victory over Poland in the Round-of-16 on Saturday. The match was a close one in the first three quarters before Spain pulled away with the final period, outscoring Poland 25-11 en route to the win.
Greece did not have much trouble as well in their previous match. The Greeks, who are still undefeated in the tournament, cruised 75-54 win over Belgium on Saturday.
All eyes will be on veteran Pau Gasol, who will try to lead Spain back to semis of the EuroBasket. The 35-year-old center averaged 23.0 points on top of 7.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists in their first six games.
On the other hand, Greece will lean on their balanced scoring attack again. Kousta Koufos leads the team scoring at 11.0 points per game to go along with 6.7 rebounds. Vassilis Spanoulis averaged 10.8 points in five games, while Yannis Bourousis and Georgios Printezis posted 10.7 markers apiece.
France vs. Latvia, 3 p.m. ET
France will host Latvia in the second quarterfinal match of the day in Lille.
France, who swept their first six games, defeated Turkey 76-53 in the Round-of-16 on Saturday. Nando De Colo led the team in scoring with 15 points, while Evan Fournier and Joffrey Lauvergne added 12 points each.
Latvia also displayed solid form on Saturday, as they held on to a 73-66 victory over Slovenia, who played in the tournament with their resident star Goran Dragic.
Tony Parker, the EuroBasket all-time leading scorer, is expected to carry the team on his shoulders anew. The San Antonio Spurs playmaker averaged 11.2 points and 3.7 assists in their first six games.
Dan Bertans is the only player from Latvia who averaged in double figures at 10.3 points per game. Janis Strelnieks and Kaspars Berzins averaged 9.8 points per game.
