Five Nights at Freddy’s News: RPG Coming 2016, 'FNAF' Movie Director Shares Photos of Animatronics, Scene
Five Nights at Freddy's video game developer Scott Cawthon has finally announced a release date for the first roleplaying game in the series, FNAF World.
"FNAF World Coming in 2016 (seriously)," Cawthon wrote on his Scott Games website home page.
The announcement image is a far cry from the terrifying animatronics of previous games. The background is bright and colorful. Most of the famous characters are smiling with big, doe-like eyes. It is unclear if the more jovial characters are the lead protagonists or teammates to be recruited over the course of the game.
No official gameplay details have been released for FNAF World.
Cawthon's fans know that he rarely sticks to announced release dates. He seems to enjoy surprising fans with early releases. Yet, the fact that he wrote "seriously" in the release date announcement indicates he'll adhere to the date given this time.
FNAF World will be released for PC, iOS and Android devices.
While fans wait, Cawthon has also announced a Halloween update for Five Nights at Freddy's 4. The update adds a cheat menu, a challenge menu and something new for one of the game's mini-games.
Meanwhile, "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie director Gil Kenan has added more photos of test animatronics and what appears to be a movie scene to his Twitter account.
"Insert human being," Kenan captioned this photo of an animatronic suit interior:
While Kenan has promised FNAF fans that he will stay true to the original story, he has given few details about the movie's storyline or plot.
Judging by Kenan's Twitter post of a crying child on an animatronic's lap, it seems that the story will be loyal to the franchise's origin in a diner. Could this child be the boy gamers play in Five Nights at Freddy's 3, who is killed at the establishment because his father worked there and had no babysitter?
According to the Phone Guy in FNAF 2, the original restaurant was named "Fredbear's Family Diner." Do you think the movie will begin in that location? Do you like the more colorful, less terrifying characters of FNAF World? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
