Fantasy Football 2015 Rankings, Sleepers & Week 5 Waiver Wire: Top 5 NFL Players to Pick Up This Week
The waiver wire is absolutely critical for Fantasy Football owners everywhere. Staying on top of free agency can make or break your team every week. Disappointing play and injuries often lead to Fantasy Football owners checking their waiver wire to help aid their roster week in and week out.
Here are five players you should consider singing off the waiver wire this week.
1. Devonta Freeman
What a start to the season it has been for Devonta Freeman. The former fourth round draft pick has 252 rushing yards and a league leading seven touchdowns through four games. The best part about Freeman is the fact that he is so versatile. Freeman has 17 catches for 196 receiving yards, and he hasn't fumbled the ball even once this year. With Matt Ryan and Julio Jones connecting down field, opposing defenses won't be able to stack the box against Freeman. Freeman has six rushing touchdowns in his last two games, and the Falcons show no signs of changing this successful system.
2. Tyrod Taylor
The Buffalo Bills quarterback is having a solid start to the season. He has eight passing touchdowns to just four interceptions in the first four games. Taylor wasn't even a lock to start opening day over E.J. Manuel, who was drafted in the first round by the Bills. Taylor is widely available in just about every Fantasy Football league. He didn't have a great performance in Week 4 against the New York Giants, but that was without LeSean McCoy and Sammy Watkins by his side. Taylor is also completing more than 71 percent of his passes this season. Taylor and the Bills will take on the Tennessee Titans next week.
3. Ronnie Hillman
DeMarco Murray is struggling, LeSean McCoy is injured, Marshawn Lynch is hurting, and you need help running the ball. The Denver Broncos are going to lean on Ronnie Hillman's legs for the next few weeks with C.J. Anderson hurting. Hillman leads the Broncos with 191 rushing yards, and he's the only player on the entire roster to even have a rushing touchdown this year so far. Hillman ran for 103 yards last week against the Minnesota Vikings on just 11 carries. Next week Hillman will get the start over the Oakland Raiders.
4. Thomas Rawls
Another waiver wire running back you should consider. The Seattle Seahawks are a run first team (except at the one yard line in the Super Bowl) so you know Thomas Rawls will get his looks. Marshawn Lynch is one of the best running backs in the league, but he is dealing with a few injuries. Lynch will miss the Monday Night Football game against the Detroit Lions so we can get a better look at Rawls sooner rather than later. Rawls currently averages 6.1 yards per carry as a secondary back this season, but he will get his chance as the featured runner.
5. James Jones
The 4-0 Green Bay Packers are playing like the best team in the NFL right now. Anytime Aaron Rodgers is slinging the football, the wide receivers will flourish. Jordy Nelson is out for the season with a torn ACL, and James Jones has stepped up tremendously. Jones isn't just fitting in and taking up a roster space, he leads the Packers in receiving yards and touchdown grabs through four games of play even over Randall Cobb. In the last two games James has 98 yards and 139 yards against quality defenses. Next week Jones and Packers face the St. Louis Rams.
