Taylor Swift Performs ‘Boom Clap’ With Charli XCX in Toronto
Taylor Swift welcomed Charli XCX to the stage on Saturday night during her "1989" world tour stop in Toronto.
The 25-year-old singer, who played two shows in Toronto over the weekend, was joined by Charli XCX during the second performance for a duet of the latter's 2014 hit "Boom Clap" at the Rogers Centre, according to Time.
Swift donned a multi-colored sequined crop top with matching hot pants, while the British singer wore a black-and-white crop top with fuzzy orange pom poms attached to the end.
"Thank u so much for having me in Toronto tonight @taylorswift13 it was fuuuun," Charli XCX tweeted after the show. Swift responded with, "I LOVE YOU @charli_xcx !!!"
During the first show on Friday night at the arena, the "Wildest Dreams" singer welcomed Keith Urban to the stage to perform his tracks "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16" and "Somebody Like You."
Charli XCX and Urban are the latest stars to be inducted into Swift's "squad," which was recently mocked on the season 41 premiere of "Saturday Night Live." In the sketch called "The Squad" featuring Aidy Bryant and Vanessa Bayer, the two female characters in the clip roam a post-apocalyptic world, in which almost everyone has been recruited into Swift's "squad."
Past performers inducted by Swift include Justin Timberlake, Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler, John Legend, Nick Jonas, Alanis Morissette, Nelly, Avril Lavigne, Selena Gomez, Leona Lewis, Julia Roberts and Matt LeBlanc.
The singer was unable to bring her cats with her to Canada, so she instead attempted to find a temporary replacement. On Saturday, Swift posted a photo to Instagram of herself hugging an oversized cardboard cutout of one of her furry felines, Detective Olivia Benson. The singer added a caption to the photo, which read, "When you can't take your cats to Canada so you hug a cardboard version of them but it's NOT THE SAME."
Since then Swift has posted another photo of herself holding her actual cat while flashing a huge smile.
The "Shake It Off" singer travels to Des Moines, Iowa's Wells Fargo Arena on Thursday, Oct. 8 for the next stop on her "1989" world tour.
