LG V10 Release Date & Price: 5.7-inch QHD Phablet To Debut in South Korea for $693
The LG V10 has frequented the rumor mills for a few months before the company officially announced its flagship phablet a little over a week ago. Now, it's on the cusp of becoming available.
According to Mobilissimo as relayed by GSM Dome, the V10 is a higher-ended LG G4, complete with two screens and two front-facing cameras. The phablet will retail in South Korea first for ₩799,700, or approximately $693 in the U.S.
The latest tip has no mention of the V10's global availability, although it has been rumored that the phablet will eventually be made available in the U.S., China and some countries in Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.
The V10 is said to immediately go on plans from three of the major mobile carriers in LG's home country. Purchasing the flagship on or before Oct. 31 will let buyers in South Korea be eligible for some giveaways like a free battery charger and a second battery. It's unclear though if this promotion will apply to other countries as well.
Specs of the V10 include a 5.7-inch QHD resolution screen, a 2.1-inch 1024 x 160 secondary display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable memory and a 3,000 mAh battery. It is powered by Qualcomm's hexa-core Snapdragon 808 SoC and runs on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop right out the box.
The V10 is equipped with a 16-megapixel main camera with LED flash, laser autofocus and OIS as well as two five-megapixel front-facing units.
Why the need for an extra selfie shooter? Well, LG pointed out via GizMag that the setup lets users capture clear, wide-angle 120-degree selfies by combining the images from each front-facing camera. It basically functions similar to human eyes. More lenses constitute a wider depth of field.
The phablet's main camera supports video recording in manual mode, which means that settings like frame rate, white balance, shutter speed and ISO can be preset so that users can capture their desired image output. It also has an image stabilization feature and videos can be recorded in either in 16:9 or 21:9 aspect ratio, in HD, Full HD or Ultra HD.
The V10 has a stainless steel build fitted with a smooth, grid-pattern material on its bottom and rear end for a better grip. It comes in black, luxe white, beige, opal blue and ocean blue upon its release.
Lastly, LG assured that the V10 is shock and drop-proof from a height of 48 inches or 1.21 meters.
