'Grimm' Season 5 Episode 1 Spoilers: Sneak Peek Videos Show Juliette's Funeral, Nick Chasing Chavez [Watch]
Building up to the Season 5 premiere of "Grimm" later this month, NBC has released three new intense teaser clips that show Nick dealing with the aftermath of Juliette's death and going on a wild hunt for vengeance.
One sneak peek video picks up exactly where Season 4 left off. As fans may recall, the finale ended right after Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) shot and killed Nick's (David Giuntoli) girlfriend Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) with a crossbow in order to save him. During the gripping scene, Nick cradled his former lover-turned-evil-hexenbiest in his arms and watched her die.
The promo video shows Nick weeping and hovering over Juliette's lifeless body before a gang of masked invaders break into his home and kidnap Trubel. The preview also shows Juliette's funeral and Nick giving her a goodbye kiss as she lies in a coffin.
In another teaser video from the upcoming premiere, entitled "The Grimm Identity," Nick tells his partner Hank that Juliette was killed and that Trubel was kidnapped. He also reveals that he suspects FBI Agent Chavez is behind Trubel's kidnapping, and that he plans to take her down.
Wu appears in the third video, telling Hank that some of Nick's neighbors were killed by home invaders. Nick, however, appears to be in route in tracking down Agent Chavez.
According to Dread Central, the season premiere synopsis teases that Nick will struggle with the death of Juliette and his mother while searching for the truth.
"In the wake of his mother's beheading and Juliette's death, things have never been more chaotic for Nick (David Giuntoli). Having lost so much, Nick must dig deep and decide what type of person he wants to be, while also coming to grips with fathering a child with his once sworn enemy, Adalind (Claire Coffee). His search for the truth leads him to FBI Agent Chavez (guest star Elizabeth Rodriguez) and puts him at odds with those close to him," it reads.
"Grimm" Season 5 premieres on Friday, Oct. 30, 9 p.m. on NBC.
