Telenovela News: Edith González to Star in New Series Based on 'Lola la trailera'
Edith González revealed that she will be starring in the telenovela remake of popular Mexican film "Lola la trailera."
According to People En Español, the actress will be playing the lead role of Lola in the 2016 Telemundo production. The telenovela will also star Arap Bethke.
"We are starting a project with Telemundo in Miami. You will see it soon. We are about to start. We already did the promotions ... and they are really nice. It's really good," the actress said.
González, who has played a variety of roles throughout her career, also revealed what fans can expect from the telenovela and her role.
"I like doing fun stuff, action roles, motherhood roles. It will touch the topic of autism, which I think hasn't been touched upon in telenovelas, and it is something that affects 1 in every 60 kids in Latin America," the actress explained.
The actress, who has a daughter Constanza with husband Lorenzo Lazo, revealed that even though she likes playing a mother on television, being a bad mother is her biggest fear in real life, El Cinco reports.
"[Parenthood] is a great learning experience, and we parents need to be great figures. We learn a lot, and kids are sweet. The little humans are precious and their hearts are full of love, but they can also be tremendous at times. You have to guide and listen, but overall listen," she said.
González famously starred in several films and telenovelas, including "Rosa salvaje," "Corazón salvaje" and "Mujer de madera." She most recently played the lead role of Valentina Diaz Bravo in "Las Bravo," a TV Azteca telenovela.
The upcoming telenovela, presently titled "The Trailera," will be filmed in Miami and is expected to premiere in 2016. Cuban actor Jorge Luis Pila is rumored to be in negotiations to play the main villain.
