A fresh start in Atlanta

Swisher began his Major League Baseball career in 2004 playing for the Oakland Athletics, per ESPN stats. In 2008, he had a brief stint with the Chicago White Sox and proceeded playing for four seasons with the New York Yankees until 2012. Then, the Ohio-born player stayed with the Indians from 2013 to 2015.

In August, the Indians traded the 34-year-old baseball player to the Braves, ESPN reported.

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez told how he saw adding Swisher will help the team.

"We add a great personality in the clubhouse in Swisher. He's a guy that can help us at first base [while Freddie Freeman is on the disabled list]," Gonzalez stated.

Swisher, who reportedly had operation for both of his knees in August 2014, is looking forward to having a fresh start in Atlanta, right after the trade.

"It's been a long road. The doc said you'll probably feel back to normal about a year in. We're coming up on that year. ... Now I'm ready to do it on the field. It just won't be here," Swisher said.
