OnePlus X: Cheaper OnePlus Smartphone to Come in White, Look Like iPhone, Leaks Show
A cheaper version of the OnePlus smartphone is coming out soon and it will likely be called the OnePlus X. The phone will look similar to an iPhone and will be available in white, according to recent leaked photos.
OnePlus is hosting a special event in London on Oct. 29. At the event, it is expected that the company will introduce an affordable handset with a smaller screen than its previous two devices and less powerful features, Tech Radar reports.
The OnePlus X will be available in either black or white and will be designed in a similar fashion to an iPhone, according to leaked photos spotted on the Chinese social networking website Weibo.
The OnePlus X will use a 5.0-inch screen with a 1080p resolution. This is smaller than both the OnePlus One and the OnePlus 2, which had 5.5-inch screens. The dimensions of the OnePlus X are expected to be 140 x 69 x 6.9 mm.
The camera on the OnePlus X will be a respectable 13 megapixels for the rear-facing sensor and 8 MP for the front-facing sensor. Those are pretty good cameras for such an affordable smartphone.
For storage, the OnePlus X will offer just 16 GB of internal storage space. Thankfully, there is a microSD slot made available for adding additional storage space.
Since the OnePlus X is made to be an affordable smartphone, it could not use all of the latest technology. This means instead of a Snapdragon 808 or 810 chip, the OnePlus X will use the older Snapdragon 801 chip. The Snapdragon 801 is not very new or very fast, but it will still perform pretty well.
With the 5.0-inch screen, the OnePlus X is somewhat unique. However, the shape and design of it makes it look very similar to the iPhone 4s with rounded corners and a clear glass back. It will be available in white or black and cost about $220 in China. In other countries it will cost a little more, probably around $249, Phone Arena says.
