Telenovea actress Adriana Campos tragically died on Tuesday in a car accident that also killed her husband, businessman Carlos Rincón.

According to People en Español, Campos and Rincón were killed after Rincón lost control of their vehicle and the car fell into the Cauca River near Colombia's Department of Antioquia.

The couple's 1-year-old son was not with them. The child was being cared for by his grandmother while the couple went looking for venues to celebrate their wedding.

Some of the actress' co-stars and friends shared their sorrow over the news of her death on social media accounts.

"I am saddened by your departure (Adriana Campos). My deepest condolences to all her family. May God accompany you on the journey! " telenovela star Michel Brown tweeted.

Colombian actress Andrea Guzmán paid tribute to Campos on Twitter as well, saying, "My heart is broken, a great woman, a great friend, great mom, great actress has left. Adriana we will remember you forever."

Campos' career spanned 15 years and included work in films, telenovelas and theater. The actress, who was 36 years old, starred in telenovelas like "Vecinos," "Bella calamidades," "La Tusa," and "El clon," which also starred her former partner Mauricio Ochmann. She was also famous for films like "Gringo Wedding."

Campos was nominated for Premios TVyNovelas in 2008 and 2010 for Best Supporting Actress for her work in "Vecinos" and for Best Antagonist for "Bella Calamidades."
