The fourth installment of the "Far Cry" video game series will take place in the Himalayas. People involved with the project also revealed to Eurogamer that "Far Cry 4" will be released before the end of March in 2015.

Aside from the drastic change of setting in the fourth game, "Far Cry" will also feature elephants that can be ridden by the characters. Rumors about a Himalayas setting was first leaked last month by Kotaku columnist and gaming insider Superannuation through an accidental tweet.

Instead of sending a direct message, Superannuation tweeted, "Far Cry 4 sounds super boring from the rumors. It's the third game more or less transposed to the Himalayas or adjacent locale + monsters (?)."

Like what the insider mentioned on Twitter, the gameplay for the fourth game will be similar to that of "Far Cry 3", which will also involve hunting various types of animals. And, shortly after Superannuation's tweet, Ubisoft, the game's developer posted a photo last February with the message, "It's time to update that definition."

The photo was from the 2014 Sochi Olympics and featured Vaas, the pirate leader who kidnapped the game's American tourists and his friends.

Last December, an anonymous source revealed that "Far Cry 4" will also support a multiplayer mode, according to the Examiner. The insider said, "'Far Cry 4' is coming on strong. Currently Code named Omega (nothing to do withy Blood Dragon, funny enough). Open world with RPG elements mixed in. Will have coop and an online companion too.

IGN reported that a first look at "Far Cry 4" will be revealed at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 in June. The March 2015 release of the game will cover the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC consoles. There are no formal announcements yet whether the game will make its way to the PlayStation 360 and Xbox consoles.
