One Direction 2014 Facts: Harry Styles Agrees to Lend Prankster $8,000 [LISTEN]
It turns out that Harry Styles is way more gullible than you think, and he is the person to call when it comes to money emergencies. The One Direction member had no idea he was getting pranked on Nick Grimshaw's BBC Radio 1.
While making a guest appearance on the show, The 1975's Matt Healy wanted to pull a practical joke on One Direction. His original plan was to prank-call Styles's bandmate, Niall Horan. However, it did not work out because the blonde singer did not pick up the phone.
The failed plan naturally moved on to the next victim: Harry Styles.
Matt Healy asked the Best Song Ever hitmaker if he could lend him $8,000 to help him handle a "threatening" situation with two men. Although the entire scenario seemed to be very unrealistic, Styles showed no signs of skepticism over the phone. In fact, he was willing to help out his fellow Brit musician.
"Hang on. Let me go, and I'll get my assistant to call you and she'll sort it out," he said.
Soon after the prank call went viral, Horan realized how everything went down and took Twitter to joke with his fans and followers.
"I had a missed call from @Truman_Black, it's all starting to make sense now!" he wrote. "Matty you idiot hahahahaha! @grimmers"
Meanwhile, Niall Horan indeed had an awesome week this week as he met Queen Elizabeth II during a reception at Buckingham Palace honoring the Irish community. He tweeted a photo of him greeting her majesty.
"I would [like] to thank @BritishMonarchy and of course queen Elizabeth for her invite to Buckingham Palace yesterday evening," he wrote.
