‘Legends of Tomorrow’ News: Producers Tease Crossover Event in New Trailer [Watch]
Just ahead of the winter premiere for "Legends of Tomorrow" on the CW, "Arrow" and "Flash" producers are teasing en epic crossover event in a new trailer.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the event will occur on both currently running CW shows "Arrow" and "Flash." "Legends" is essentially a spinoff of both of these shows, but they are going to be a sealed universe of their own. That means they will have their own friends and enemies to contend with to give the show its own story.
But they are not waiting for the show's premiere to introduce their heroes and villains. Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) will be making his first appearance along with Hawkman and Hawkgirl, giving them their DC TV Universe debut and laying the framework for what fans can expect to be a groundbreaking series.
Grant Gustin (Flash) spoke with EW about the event and what the potential significance will be for the DC TV Universe.
"It's 'Legends,' 'Arrow' and 'Flash' crossing over now, so it's even bigger," Gustin told EW. "There are more characters from 'Arrow' and 'Flash' crossing over that didn't crossover last year."
What is especially unique about this crossover is that Savage has been described as the baddest of all bads because he has powers endowed to him through a meteorite. But these powers are meaningless unless the man has some practice using them. He has had over 50,000 years of experience reigning down his evil plans all over the Earth, and he intends to put them to full use by hunting down and killing Hawkgirl.
He has claimed to have adopted various names throughout history and conquered many lands. Some of those names include Julius Caesar, Jack the Ripper and Genghis Khan. Of course that is an interesting fictional take on real history.
"It's huge and you see a lot of characters interacting that you don't normally get to see interacting," Gustin said.
This crossover has been described as a two-hour event that will start tonight on the CW and end Wednesday on "Arrow" at 8 p.m. EST. Watch the trailer below.
