'Outlander' Season 2 Trailer Released [Watch]
“Outlander” fans can finally get a sneak peek into what is in store for their favorite time traveling characters in Season 2 of the show, thanks to a new teaser clip.
The newly released trailer for the next season of the romantic sci-fi series shows Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) in France, concerned about nothing less than the fate of the world.
“Let’s talk about the future,” Claire says in the clip, “and how we are going to change it.”
The couple is shown in an opulent bed. Jaime touches Claire’s very noticeable baby bump, as if he is symbolically caressing the future. But whatever luxury the couple has found for themselves in the past, the two know they have a duty to the future of civilization.
“We have to remember what’s at stake,” Claire says. “The future of Scotland itself.”
When Claire asks Jaime if he thinks they can really change things, he jokes to offset the gravity of their task.
"You tell me," he says, "You’re the one from the future.”
Balfe plays the WWII nurse who has been sent back to 1743 Scotland. The actress has a deep respect for her character’s strength and tenacity.
Speaking to Interview Magazine, Balfe said, "Claire's so passionate and vital; she loves hard and fights hard and works hard, and all of that felt like a very whole woman, very elemental and timeless in that sense."
Not surprisingly, the Irish model and actress has become as famous for her beauty as her acting. When asked about the scantily clad images of her that come up when Googling her name, the actress seems embarrassed but resigned to the life she has chosen.
"I am a product of every experience I've had up to this point, and I'm sure I was damn glad for those two days of work at the time," she said. "It gives my friends something great to flag me off about.”
“Outlander” returns to Starz in Spring 2016.
