Former Houston Texans' defensive lineman Ryan Pickett offers his Poway home on the market with a price cut.

Pickett, the Florida-born football player, is just asking for $4.75 million for his California mansion, Realtor.com reported.

It was a significant drop from its reported original asking price of $7.5 million a year ago. The 36-year-old NFL athlete commissioned Nina Wells of Keller Williams-Carmel Valley to handle the listing.

Its property listing on Realtor.com described the Poway estate as an "exquisite Greg Agee built masterpiece" and an "epitome of fine living" in its private community.

The retreat place comes with eight bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms and a half bath. Other living areas include a grand foyer, a formal living room, a family room, a home theater, a game room, an exercise room, a sauna, hairstyling stations, a wine cellar and an impressive office. The abode highlights a modern kitchen that comes with easy to clean granite counter tops, state-of-the-art appliances and a walk-in pantry.

Apart from the main house is a guest house equipped with a bedroom, a living room and a full kitchen with a bar.

Interiors showcase an airy ambiance, spanning glass panels, hardwood or travertine floors, beamed ceilings, exquisite finishes, intricately designed doors and a comfortable floor plan.

Outdoors, the expansive grounds display a tennis court, a sports court, a sunken trampoline, a playhouse, a children's play area, a running path and a putting green. Aside from these amenities, a vacation-type pool with slide, spa and waterfalls features complete the outdoor setting. The next owners can arrange a wonderful swimming party complemented with a light dinner or barbecue. The grilling station and the gazebo are perfect features for this.

Pickett Loved the Texans

The Ohio State University alum entered the NFL in 2001, per ESPN stats. He played five seasons with the St. Louis Rams and eight seasons with Green Bay Packers afterward. He only had one season with Houston's team last year, but he truly enjoyed it.

Pickett told Chron that if ever he returned in the league, he wanted to be with the Texans.

"I've got to go home [to San Diego] and think things out. But if I did come back, I'd want to play here [with the Texans]. I feel like this team is headed somewhere and I'd like to be a part of that. I've never been around a team that worked this hard, but we all bought into it," Pickett said.

Can Pickett still go back to the game?
