Mikaila Ulmer, 11 years old, has landed a multi million dollar deal with Whole Foods to sell her lemonade "Bee Sweet."

The story is quite compelling as no one would expect a girl so young to make so much money as an entrepreneur. However, it all paid off especially after the idea started just selling lemonade on a lemonade stand.

The deal, which was inked by Whole Foods will see the product be sold at 55 of their US stores. The question most ask is how this little girl was able to obtain such a deal.

What's the Secret?

It all started at the age of four years of age when Ulmer was stung by two bees and she decided to investigate why they sting and was intrigued by their role in the ecosystem. During that time she started a lemonade stand that used her grandmother's secret recipe that uses mint, flaxseed and honey lemonade. However, the taste is something that Ulmer refuses to share because it is what makes her lemonade special. That recipe led her all the way to the ABC show "Shark Tank" where she convinced investors to give her $60,000 and was able to start her business. Her business has since contributed not only to making the secret formula from her Grandmother but also into saving bees.

Success

Ulmer's lemonade is now a phenomenon as she has been able to serve it to president Barack Obama and has also been part of Google's Dare to be Digital campaign. Ulmer is also an award winning entrepreneur as she has won the the African American Harvest Foundation Story Changer award. Ulmer also received an award at the South by Southwest festival where it was announced that UNFI (United Natural Foods), a leading national distributor of natural foods and beverages would also work with her on the lemonade.

Tips to Success

She may only be 11 years old but Ulmer definitely sounds like she has experienced a lot in her life. On NBC she gave three tips for how to be successful. Ulmer urged those entrepreneurs to work hard at what they loved and also said that passion was important to drive success. She also noted that you could be a social entrepreneur and still be profitable. Her products not only makes money on lemonade but it also works to save bees from toxins and disease.
