Three Texas kids known as the "Little Rascals" trio have been taken into custody for robbing a bank in Houston. The bank robbery by these three Texas kids raised eyebrows after FBI Houston posted about what they did and their subsequent arrest.

As the FBI tweet noted, the "Little Rascals" trio were charged locally with robbery by threat after they were arrested. However, because they were all juveniles, as the law has stated, their identities and any additional details were not disclosed to the public.

The three Texas kids allegedly robbed a Wells Fargo bank on the North Freeway and West Road in the Greenspoint area. The bank robbery has alarmed many in the Houston area because of the ages of the two youngest suspects, according to ABC 13.

Initially, the boys reportedly appeared to be between the ages of 14 and 18. However, when the FBI posted the arrest update that they are, in fact, 16, 12, and 11 years old, many were shocked as the two pre-teens were very unusual for doing such an act.

"The age of the younger two, that's unusual for a bank robbery," said retired juvenile district court judge Mike Schneider. "It's one of the first times I've seen that."

'Little Rascals' Trio Passed Threatening Letter To Bank Teller When Robbing Texas Wells Fargo

The three Texas kids arrived at the Greenspoint Wells Fargo in North Houston, all wearing hoodies and inside the bank's lobby. They did not seem to be accompanied by anyone else when they robbed the bank.

As the Associated Press reported, the boys passed a threatening note to a teller before running away on foot with the money that they stole. It was not revealed how much they made off with.

This led to the FBI Houston account posting an image of the three boys on X (formerly Twitter), and the tweet soon went viral. Soon enough, they were all identified, with the parents of two of the boys turning them in, while the third boy was identified by local Houston police after a fight.

The boys were believed to be armed, but when they robbed the Wells Fargo, they did not present any weapon, just that threatening letter, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. However, authorities find a weapon and a "distinctive item pictured in one of the photos."

Texas Kids Known as the 'Little Rascals' Trio Charged With a Felony

Even though they were still minors, the fact that they were caught on CCTV cameras robbing a bank was enough to have the Harris County Sheriff's Office charge them with robbery by threat, which is a second-degree felony in the state of Texas, according to USA Today.

Because they are still minors, an adult might be involved and is pulling the strings. However, investigators have not stated if there was any other person involved in the robbery.

"I was thinking either this was very low in sophistication or maybe an adult had something to do with this. That is not uncommon," retired judge Schneider said. "Because kids have a punishment that is less severe, it is not uncommon for adult offenders to get them to commit crimes."
