International Boxing Organization, World Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation middleweight champion Gennady "Triple G" Golovkin may not have a shot at the World Boxing Organization title soon.

The unbeaten Kazakh warrior's goal to unify the middleweight division, as announced by his promoter Tom Loeffler, per a Boxing Scene article, hangs in a balance. It appears that the winner of the Dec. 19 WBO bout between current titleholder Andy Lee and Billy Joe Saunders may be facing WBA "regular" middleweight king Daniel Jacobs instead, the site noted.

For Lou DiBella, who promotes Lee and Jacobs, the best case scenario is for Lee to successfully defend his title and carry on fighting Jacobs, who just came out of a first-round stoppage victory against Peter Quillin on Dec. 5 at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York, per BoxRec.

Readers of the outlet have theories on what could happen next.

"The Big Dunn" wrote, "If Lee wins, I don't see why DiBella would let either Lee or Jacobs fight GGG before fighting each other.Then my guess is he would put the winner of Lee/Jacobs in with Canelo before 'GGG.'"

Thus, if DiBella proceeds to the next step of planning the Lee vs. Jacobs winner clash against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez first, then "Triple G" may not really have much chance to claim the WBO crown. Even though he was the World Boxing Council mandatory challenger, he was not able to capture it from Puerto Rican champion Miguel Cotto. He allowed to be sidelined twice, per a Boxing Scene report, which made "Canelo" now the rightful owner of the belt. With "Canelo" holding the WBC and could be securing also the WBO title in the future, "GGG" will have a harder time asking the young Mexican fighter to fight him at 160 pounds.

Alvarez already has declared that he is not yet ready to fight at 160 pounds, but will face him willingly at 155 pounds, per Fight Hype.

A reader named "Bigg Rigg" advice for "GGG" is to "lose the weight and fight 'Canelo.'" Is it really his best course of action?

Truly, getting the WBO belt is such a challenging task for Golovkin. If Saunders triumph against Lee, he will still not face "GGG" even though he will be paid much for it, per an IFL TV interview, noted Boxing News 24.

However, with these matches being planned, "GGG" may also not have a shot at the WBC Belt. Golovkin was firm he would not go lower than 160 pounds for the WBC title fight, Boxing Scene noted.
