If the proposed Saul "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin battle happens either anytime soon or even five years from now, "Triple G" will score a knockout win within nine rounds, Abel Sanchez claims.

Sanchez, Golovkin's trainer, is confident that the new World Boxing Council middleweight champion will not last against his fighter, who holds the International Boxing Organization, World Boxing Association and International Boxing Organization crowns.

"Athletically I'm positive that Canelo won't last nine rounds with Golovkin - whether it happens in May, September 2016 or 2020," Sanchez told ESPN Deportes, Boxing Scene noted.

Even Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach places his bet on Golovkin, Fight Hub reported.

"I like Golovkin a lot. I think he's a very clever. I still like Triple G to win that fight [between him and 'Canelo'] if it does happen," Roach said.

The world-class boxing mentor even regards "GGG" as "one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world" currently. The only dilemma Golovkin has, is that several fighters are afraid to clash with him so he couldn't prove that he has what it takes to be the best boxer there is, explained Roach.

However, for the Mexican boxing icon Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez, he believes that his fellow countryman will emerge as the victor between the two warriors, per a Fight Hub interview. He particularly noticed that he greatly advanced in his Nov. 21 bout against former titleholder Miguel Cotto. "Dinamita" observed that although "Canelo" was not that consistent with his punch combinations, he was still effective defensively.

Yet, he suggests that Alvarez's best chance is to defeat the undefeated Kazakh via points only.

"From what I saw of Canelo, he would give a great fight to Golovkin. It would be an important and great fight, because we saw him [Canelo] evade punches, and we know Golovkin is a come forward fighter. If Canelo boxes him like he did tonight, evading punches, but counter attacks, it would be an interesting fight, a fight he could probably win on points," Marquez said.

Golovkin and Alvarez are expected to meet in the second half of 2016, per the WBC's ruling, Boxing Scene informed. The WBC told the two fighters for them to have a voluntary defense each to make their showdown more exciting for the fans.

Golovkin's camp is already looking into having a match with the winner of the Andy Lee vs. Billy Joe Saunders fight or WBA "regular" champion Danny Jacobs, Boxing Scene noted.

Alvarez, on the other hand, is eyeing a Cinco de Mayo weekend return, per Boxing Scene. However, his camp has no details about his potential opponents yet.
