Dwayne Johnson Reveals First Photo of New Daughter
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson posted the first photo of his new baby daughter, Jasmine, on Instagram on Sunday.
The 43-year-old actor and semiretired professional wrestler welcomed his first child with girlfriend Lauren Hashian on Wednesday, Dec. 16, according to Entertainment Weekly.
In the photo, Johnson appears with his newborn daughter lying sweetly on his chest wrapped in a blanket.
"Within minutes of being born she was laying on daddy's chest. And being a grateful man takes on a whole new meaning," he wrote in a post Sunday on Instagram.
"Kinda crazy but in this cool and powerful skin to skin bonding moment with my newborn baby Jasmine, I had just one wish I asked the universe... Give me the strength to be a better man today than I was yesterday. If I can accomplish that, then I'd have a good shot at being a great father," he added.
Johnson also thanked his fans for their well wishes, after many congratulated the couple on their new bundle of joy.
While this is Johnson's first child with Hashian, he also has a 14-year-old daughter, Simone, with his ex-wife Dany Garcia. Johnson was married to Garcia in 1997, and they announced their separation in 2007. After his divorce from Garcia, he began dating Hashian, after they met on the set of his film "The Game Plan" in 2006. The timing sparked rumors that Johnson left his marriage to be with Hashian.
Johnson is currently working on the animated film "Moana," offering up his voice for the character Maui. He is also set to star in the films "Rampage," "Baywatch," "Furious 8" and "Shazam!"
Recently, he wrapped up work on the comedy "Central Intelligence," which was directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. He stars in the film, which is about two old pals reuniting and getting caught up in the world of international espionage, alongside Kevin Hart and Aaron Paul. The film will be released to theaters on June 17, 2016.
