Apple iOS 10.2 Update: iOS 10.2 comes with New Emoji Support, TV app and other improvements
After seven betas and couple of months of testing, Apple has finally released the final version of the iOS 10.2 mobile operating system for supported iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices.
According to MacRumours, the new operating system will become with revamped emoji support. This includes both new characters in version 9.0 of the Unicode spec as well as support for new professions and revamped Retina-friendly designs for many existing emoji.
The biggest new feature is probably the TV app, a new and unified experience for accessing TV programs and films across multiple video apps.
The operating system completely changes the existing "Videos" app on iDevices. The app now handles all playback of movies and TV shows purchased through the iTunes store as well as content aggregated from compatible third-party apps.
Apart from the TV app, Apple has improved the stabilization and increased the frame rate for Live Photos. Additionally, Home Kit accessories are now able to send the notification when the software update is available, SOFTPEDIA reported.
The connectivity performance has improved Apple with third-party Bluetooth accessories, and also provides RAW support in the photos app for photos taken with dedicated cameras. The new updated version is also recommended for using iOS 10.1.1, and this also improves the quality of battery's device life too.
The new version of Apple runs on the iPhone 5 and newer devices, the fourth -generation I pad and newer devices, both I Pad Pros and the generation sixth iPod Touch.
Besides this, Apple has also released a pair of corresponding updates for the Apple watch and fourth-generation Apple TV.
The 10.1 update on TV includes the Apple TV version of the TV app, while watch OS 3.1.1 adds support new Unicode 9 emoji and fixes a handful of other bugs for the first generation and Series 1 and Series 2 Apple watches.
The update also includes stability improvements and bug fixes.
