Patent Filed For A Certain Apple Watch 3 Feature
Apple's success in the wearable markets seems to have taken off with the right momentum. Early last year, the Cupertino-based tech giant introduced the second generation of Apple 'Watch' that also witnessed an exclusive partnership with American Sporting giants Nike. After about ten months of release, there are fresh rumors that reveal its successor for this year, the Apple Watch 3.
If everything goes as planned, Apple will likely announce the Apple Watch 3 around the same time the Apple Watch Series 2 was launched. In spite of Google tying up with major watch manufacturers, Apple wearables seem to have remained unaffected likely due to the popularity of the brand itself. It's also to be noted that Apple certainly failed in their expensive watch sector leading to a total closure of their most expensive variant of the Apple Watch.
A report from the PCAdvisor's technology division reveals that Apple, in fact, has even secured a patent for the watch strap to be made modular. With the new patent, Apple can now develop a battery directly embedded to the strap that was detailed in the reports. Basically, the straps will act like a portable battery bank for the new wearable that's now rumored for the announcement.
A patented image that's seen on the website reveals how the technology will be implemented in such a way that a thin induction coil shall be placed at the bottom of the strap without revealing much on the outside. Meanwhile, an in-depth discussion from the MacWorld reveals that the Apple Watch Series 3 is expected to be released around September this year.
Other details from the website include the likely expectations from Apple fans, they hope to see in the rumored device. The report also suggests that Apple is likely to embed magnets that will be able to join both the straps also leading to a quick swap if in case necessary. With that said, there will be possibly new color choices for the straps that might be exclusive to the new Watch series.
