March's Xbox Games With Gold Highlights Several Amazing Horror Games; 'Evolve' and 'Borderlands 2' Included
According to several confirmed reports, throughout the month of March, from March 1 through March 31, Xbox One owners are able to acquire the psychedelic horror game "Layers of Fear." Originally released exclusively for the console last year, it was heavily praised by reviewers for its scares and atmosphere, and it offers a more subdued take on horror compared to some other horror games.
According to Digital Trends, also available for Xbox One owners in March, specifically March 16 through April 15, is "Evolve Ultimate Edition." Turtle Rock Studios asymmetrical multiplayer shooter contains the base game, two "hunting seasons" and the "Monster" expansion pack, as well as containing additional hunters and monsters.
The entire game package typically retails for $50 on the Xbox store. However, if you just want the standard version, you can also find it at GameStop for a minimum $10.
From March 1 throughout March 15, Xbox 360 owners are able to download "Borderlands 2." The same with all new Games that feature Gold picks, the game is also fully playable on Xbox One, but doesn't contain the features that were seen in the Handsome Collection version of the game, nor does it have any downloadable content.
According to Follow News, Borderlands 2 will then be followed by Heavy Weapon from March 16 through March 31. Heavy Weapon is a cartoony shooters game which was originally released in 2007.
Though a bit older than some of the other games that were offered out via Games With Gold, its retro-inspired action appears to have aged way better than most of the Xbox 360 library.
With a wide selection of old titles and inexpensive indie games, March doesn't feature the strongest game lineup that we've seen Xbox give us through Games With Gold. But with the fact that these games are still amazing can still pretty much attract any Xbox owner.
