Xbox Head Phil Spencer Talks Project Scorpio; No FPS Games Like 'Halo' or 'Gears of War' For 2017 - Here's Why
Xbox Head Phil Spencer recently appeared in a podcast where he discussed the anticipated Project Scorpio and the game line up for their console. He also revealed that there will be no first person shooter (FPS) games for 2017 including sequels for "Halo" and "Gears of War."
Phil Spencer appeared on IGN's Unlocked podcast to discuss the Project Scorpio. Microsoft and Xbox are gearing up for the release of their upcoming console Project Scorpio. The new gaming system is slated for a Holiday 2017 release. The developers will reportedly be having an event on June 11 to unveil the completed console as well as announce new information including its release date.
Spencer adds that there is a great lineup being prepared for 2017 for Xbox. He said that it will be an "interesting" year because there will be no FPS game sequels for "Halo" or "Gears of War." He explains that they will be focusing on other games for this year. GameSpot reports that some of the Xbox games coming this year include "Prey," "Yooka-Laylee" and "Rime." Spencer adds that there may be new unannounced games coming which will be a surprise treat for gamers.
Spencer also reiterated that the Xbox Project Scorpio will impress fans and critics alike. The device is often addressed as a premium console which means that it will be more expensive and have better graphics than the current Xbox One S device.
Xbox games will be compatible with the Project Scorpio and gamers will definitely see the difference when they play them using the latter. The upcoming console will have better graphics and will be more powerful. Additionally, accessories that work on the Xbox can also be used on Scorpio.
