What will people say if suddenly they see Oprah Winfrey running for the presidency next? Apparently, the famous TV entertainer and talk show host has been thinking the same thing.

According to Mail Online, after seeing Donald Trump rise to president Oprah has hopes that she should also give it a go. In an interview with Bloomberg, Oprah told David Rubenstein that before Trump's win, she never considered this thought but her views have since changed.

However, then Oprah saw the reality-show icon and billionaire Donald Trump beating longtime politician Hillary Clinton and ascend to the throne. According to Oprah, if Trump can run for president without the customary qualifications maybe she can too.

The TV icon however clarified backstage that she is not seriously considering entering politics. It's just a thought that passed her mind.

"No, that won't be happening," Bloomberg quoted Oprah. "But I mean, I did use to think, well gee, you had to know so much more than I thought you had to know."

If Oprah does decide in future to run for the presidency and ultimately wins, she would be the first woman president. Talking about her career she told Rubenstein that it is built step by step through unlikely success one after another.

Back in 1984 when she was hired to host "A. M. Chicago" most of her friends thought she would fail. It was hard to compete against the legendary interviewer Phil Donahue.

Oprah admitted that she did not think she could beat her competition, Donahue. However, she did beat him. She wasn't trying to, though.

Oprah has gained a prominent position among her peers and fans and she herself has become a brand. Her cable TV network, OWN" and her highly successful 25-year run of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" has made her a large fanbase.
