Shannen Doherty Works Out & Attends Foundation Event Just A Week After Chemo; Reaches Out As She Waits For Results
Shannen Doherty is up and about just a week after she has successfully completed her chemotherapy for breast cancer. The "Charmed" star was with her husband Kurt Iswarienko in the Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation Gratitude Gala in Los Angeles Saturday evening. Shannen looked healthy and happy walking the red carpet. She also posted a workout video on Instagram as she danced to Missy Elliott's "Lose Control."
Shannen Doherty has been very open about her struggles with breast cancer. She announced that she was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 but instead of resting, she opted to document her journey and inspire others with cancer to be strong. During the foundation event, she shared a photo of her and love of her life Kurt on Instagram saying that the event was a full house, Pop Sugar reported.
Shannen Doherty showed how to "fight like a girl" on social media. Her latest post was a video of her and her fitness partner Neda dancing to the tune of "Lose Control." Remarkably, Shannen was full of energy and was looking healthy as she followed the new routine perfectly. She said that she was learning her new @jammalibu #cancerslayer and was given just 20 minutes to do it, US Weekly reported.
Shannen posted during her last days of chemo that she felt exhausted and eagerly awaiting the results if she was clear or not. She shared that when one gets cancer, there is a certain extent of waiting involved. Then she reached out to people who are in the same plight as her saying "I'm waiting with you."
The "Beverly Hills 90210" star has undergone mastectomy and chemotherapy since she was diagnosed. Her latest radiation treatment started in November. Shannen Doherty once described cancer as a thing that tears and builds a person; staying positive calling it beautiful, hard and interesting.
