For some, "Pokemon GO" may just be a good game to pass time but it provides much-needed exercise which results in good health benefits especially for obese players of the game. A new study shows that that game's augmented-reality (AR) style makes it easier for people to move around as they catch Pokemon without calling it exercise.

For those who don't know, "Pokemon GO" is played using a smartphone device. The goal is to catch virtual animated Pokemon around the area. Developer Niantic Labs have already released generations 1 and 2 in the game so there are over 250 Pokemon that players can catch.

A new study which recorded users of "Pokemon GO" found that players were more likely to walk 10,000 steps daily than those who don't play the game. Live Science reports that the study proved to be more beneficial for individuals who are obese or overweight and those who live sedentary lifestyles because of added physical activity.

In other news, "Pokemon GO" players may have another reason to get up and "catch 'em all." Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke has announced that they will be adding the elusive Legendary Pokemon in the game this year.

Techhno Buffalo reports that "Pokemon GO" players will have the chance to catch the Legendary birds Zapdos, Articuno and Moltres as well Mewtwo and Mew very soon. Niantic Labs has been hard at work to improve the game and apart from adding the Legendaries, they will be improving gym battles in the game.
