'Thor: Ragnarok' News: Chris Hemsworth To Show Off Funny Side, Says Director Taika Waititi
The plot for "Thor: Ragnarok" has been revealed and it will entail Chris Hemsworth showing off the funny side of Thor. Additionally, the new plot reveals that Thor and Hulk will work side by side leading up to the events of the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War."
In "Thor: Ragnarok," the movie will start with Thor puzzled about how the Avengers were wrongly influenced in the last movie. He also finds out that Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) who was impersonating their father Odin (played by Anthony Hopkins) has managed to let Hela (Cate Blanchett) loose from her prison in Asgard.
Entertainment Weekly reports that troubles start when Thor encounters Hela and gets sent to Sakaar. He also meets Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) where he is sent to meet the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum).
It is then imperative for Thor to become a gladiator which explains why he has a shorter hair with no Mjolnir on hand. The outlet adds that Thor will meet up with the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) who has become a gladiator as well. The two will be forced to join in the gladiator fights in "Thor: Ragnarok."
According to director Taika Waititi, "Thor: Ragnarok" was inspired by various comedic films. IGN reports that Taika Waititi felt that Thor was too serious in the previous films. And that is why Chris Hemsworth's Thor will show off his funny side as he goes on with his fate in Sakaar with Hulk.
"Thor: Ragnarok" will also feature Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). The former neurosurgeon will be instrumental in helping find the missing Odin in the movie.
The movie is set to be released later this year on November 3. Apart from "Thor: Ragnarok" being a standalone movie for Thor, it will also connect to the events leading up to the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War" movie next year.
