‘Game Of Thrones’ Showrunners Talk About Most Expensive Death And How Kit Harrington Pranked Them
"Game of Thrones" is all set to come back for its seventh season this July. Up until then, fans will have to make do with tidbits of knowledge they get from the cast and showrunners.
Deaths in "Game of Thrones" are hard for fans. Recently, at SXSW panel, Benioff and Weiss talked about which death had been hard for them aka proved the most costly up until now.
Surprisingly, the most costly death scene was Meryn Trant. Arya Star (Maisie Williams) stabbed Ian Beattie's character in the eyes and then slit his throat back in "Game of Thrones" Season 5.
On a lighter note, the showrunners also talked about a time Jon Snow actor Kit Harrington pranked them, revealed Variety. The actors of "Game of Thrones" are supposed to look more or less the same between seasons. However, Kit expressed his desire to cut off his signature hair and sent the producers a photo of him with a new hairdo.
The showrunners freaked out and lawyers got involved. Thankfully it turned out that the mischievous "Game of Thrones" actor had sent a five years old photo and did not actually mess up his hairstyle.
According to Independent, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss recently revealed inside information about the possible spin-offs. They have hinted that HBO is interested in continuing the saga even after "Game of Thrones" ends through prequels, sequels, and spin-offs.
"The characters who maybe will survive, there's always going to be this temptation to keep doing it," Independent quoted "Game of Thrones" producer Benioff. "To do the spinoff show or do the sequel show and everything, I think HBO might well do one."
However, showrunners have clarified previously that their work will end with Season 8. Benioff and Weiss will not be a part of any "Game of Thrones" spin-offs if HBO chooses to do them.
