'Street Fighter 5' News: Play The Game For Free On Steam Starting March 28; How To Play As Zero Suit Samus
Those who are interested to try out the new "Street Fighter 5" may do so for free on Steam for one week starting March 28. Capcom announces that all characters including season two fighters Akuma and Kolin will be included.
Players will only be able to play the online modes in the "Street Fighter 5" free trial. Capcom is reportedly testing the modes to make improvements to the Capcom Fighters Network (CFN) and its upcoming features. Once the trial period has ended, the company will upgrade the CFN to make its debut release for the PlayStation 4 and PC, GameSpot reports.
Capcom announced in a release that "Street Fighter 5" players who already have the game may take part in the beta test. Their CFN names and rank can be used. However, new players who will earn Fight Money and progress will not be able to save their data because it will be deleted once the test is over.
The CFN adjustments for "Street Fighter 5" include the new Rage Quit Penalty System, Matchmaking, Interactive Timeline, Country Rankings and the Friend System. Capcom hopes that the new adjustments they will make will resolve ongoing issues in the online network.
"Street Fighter 5" players who are into mods can get Zero Suit Samus in the game. Polygon reports that a modder modified Cammy to look like the "Metroid" heroine.
The outlet adds that the Zero Suit Samus mod has two versions: with gear or without. However, players should not expect the modded Cammy to have the same moves as Samus in the Nintendo game. Other character mods for the "Street Fighter 5" game include Tracer from "Overwatch."
The "Street Fighter 5" free trial on PC will begin on March 28 at 1PM PT via Steam. It will end on April 3 at 12PM PT. The CFN adjustments will reportedly be made soon after the beta trial.
