iPad Pro 2 vs iPad 9.7-inch 2017: Upcoming iPad Won't Have Pro Features
The upcoming iPads from Apple have been roaming around the rumor mills for quite some time. Now, the Cupertino-based tech company silently revealed its iPad 9.7-inch (2017) and this device has been compared to iPad Pro 2 as reports suggest that it will not flaunt Pro features.
According to MacWorld, the iPad Pro 2 is expected to be released in two variants, the first one is 9.7-inch and the other one is 12.9-inch. Both of these iPad Pro models are expected to be engineered with A10X chipset. Aside from that the iPad Pro 2 with 9.7-inch display might be packed with 2 GB of RAM while the 12.9-inch variant might be equipped with 4 GB of RAM.
Furthermore, the iPad pro 2 models are expected to flaunt a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper. The upcoming member of iPad Pro line-up is expected to be capable of 4K video recording and Live Photos. As for the display, it might arrive with True Tone and 'wide color.'
On the other hand, MacRumors has noted that the iPad 9.7-inch (2017) is engineered with A9 chipset. It boasts a 9.7-inc display with 2,048‑by‑1,536 resolution and 264 PPI. It is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear-facing iSight camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing FaceTime snapper. This iPad is also equipped with two speakers, a Lightning connector and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The newest iPad is also furnished with Touch ID with Apple Pay and other specs include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 4.2.
Moreover, it is really noticeable that the iPad 9.7-inch (2017) lacks the features of the iPad Pro. These include the True Tone display with a wide P3 color gamut and Smart Connector. This device also doesn't support for Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard. It is also not capable of 4K HD video recording, LTE Advanced and Live Photos. The newest iPad is also not armed with True Tone flash and four-speaker audio.
The iPad 9.7-inch is tagged at $399 and it is justifiable that it lacks the Pro features. This device can be ordered starting March 24 and it will be shipped next week. As for the iPad Pro 2, there is still no confirmed details about the gadget yet; thus the patrons waiting for this device still has to wait for further announcements.
