Niantic Labs Announces Gym Raids and Cooperative Mode for 'Pokemon GO'
Niantic Labs is gearing to make "Pokemon GO" more interactive than ever before. The company has announced that they are adding two new features that will inspire a more social gameplay - Gym raids and cooperative mode.
The company announced on the official "Pokemon GO" website that they will be introducing cooperative features. Cinema Blend notes that Niantic Labs did not specify what kind of social gameplay modes they will introduce.
Since "Pokemon GO" was launched last year, many players have hoped for the game to include the option to trade Pokemon and items. The outlet adds that the new features will be launched by Spring this year.
Niantic Labs has previously said that the team is working on Pokemon trading for "Pokemon GO." Furthermore, the trading will not be done online as players will need to be physically near with a player in order to complete the transaction. They did not explicitly say when this feature will be added. It is also not known if it will be part of their update release in Spring.
Another social feature that players want to see in "Pokemon GO" is team battles. The players are largely divided in three groups; they can either choose to be in Teams Mystic, Valor or Instinct. "Pokemon GO" players in all three groups are known to be competitive so it would make sense for Niantic Labs to have team battles among the teams.
Heavy reports that Niantic Labs' Tatsuo Nomura said last month that they are currently improving the "gym portion" of "Pokemon GO." The team has admitted that the gym gameplay will need to be redone and revised in order to make the gameplay smoother in the future.
With more cooperative gaming features coming soon to "Pokemon GO," will you be playing the game again when it gets released in the spring? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
