After being fired from the latest Jackass movie, franchise star Brandon "Bam" Margera filed a lawsuit against Johnny Knoxville, MTV, Paramount Pictures, and other individuals behind the Jackass Forever team.

Failed Agreement Compliance

According to Rolling Stones, Jackass star Brandon "Bam" Margera stated in his filed complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday that he was allegedly subjected to abusive, inhumane, and discriminatory treatment in relation to a 'Wellness Agreement.'

The complaint claimed that Bam was coerced to sign by show producer Spike Jonze, his co-star Johnny Knoxville and director Jeffrey Tremaine. The 41-year-old reality show star signed the agreement, which allegedly required him to take multiple daily drug tests while under rehabilitation in 2019.

A Treatment and Not a Violation

Based on the suit, Margera's contract and role in "Jackass Forever" were contingent on his adherence to the Wellness Agreement.

In August 2020, Paramount Pictures Corporation fired the 41-year-old Margera by citing that Bam had not remained in compliance with the Wellness Program, which was required to him after he allegedly tested positive for Adderall.

However, on the notes on the complaint filed by Bam, his prescription shows that the presence of Adderall on his body should not have been considered as a violation of the Wellness agreement and Paramount only used it as an excuse to terminate him. The complaint stated:

"As Defendants, including Paramount, knew full well, Margera has been taking prescription Adderall for more than 10 years.

Margera was required for the medication based on his documented mental health issues, which included bipolar disorder and attention deficit disorder.

The suit also allegedly mentioned that Margera had already filmed several scenes for the latest Jackass movie. He also had provided other content to the latest movie show in the Jackass franchise. The complaint added that the vast majority of which were being utilized prior to his termination.

Furthermore, Margera said in a statement that he was pissed-off, angry, hurt, and shattered after Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze, and the movie team ripped off his creativity, content, and stunts to make this movie. Margera also claimed that he was fired without justification, and the Jackass Forever team refused to pay him for his work. Margera also mentioned that Johnny created this franchise before any of these guys ever got involved.

The suit accused Knoxville, MTV, Paramount Pictures, and other production team members of violation of the Fair Employment and Housing Act, unlawful retaliation in violation of California Labor Code section 1102.5, wrongful discharge in violation of public policy against Paramount.

Breach of contract, several fraud claims, and violation of the Unruh Civil Rights Act were also mentioned in the lawsuit. Margera was also seeking an injunction on the movie's release, along with some monetary damages because of his recent termination of the project.
