The Manhattan grand jury in New York has wrapped up the latest day of deliberations on Donald Trump's hush money payment to former porn star Stormy Daniels as the former president faces the possibility of being indicted.

Trump has maintained he committed no crimes in paying Stormy Daniels hush money about their 2006 sexual encounter, at the same time denying he never had an affair with her to begin with despite inadvertently admitting to it in a Truth Social post.

According to NBC News, the Manhattan grand jury has already finished their session for the day, but they did not vote for any indictment. It is noted that it is still unclear when it will return for consideration of the hush money case, but so far, they have been meeting Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to hear testimony from witnesses.

The investigation centers around the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels by then-Trump fixer and lawyer Michael Cohen at the behest of Trump himself. Trump allegedly used campaign contributions for that payment, which is illegal.

Former National Enquirer Publisher and Donald Trump Friend David Pecker Testify

For the Monday deliberation, the Manhattan grand jury heard testimony from former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker, a friend of the former president who had a key role in paying off Stormy Daniels.

Pecker testified before the grand jury in January, making this latest appearance his second one. According to the New York Times, he and the tabloid's top editor helped broker the deal between Daniels and Cohen.

The focus for this second testimony from Pecker is still unclear, though it is noted that the longtime Trump ally had previously agreed to "keep an eye out for potentially damaging stories about Mr. Trump during the 2016 campaign," per the New York Times.

In October 2016, Stormy Daniels wanted to sell her story about her time with Trump. The National Enquirer, which was allied with Trump at that time, would buy that story and never publish it as part of the "Catch and Kill" practice. However, Pecker and the editor, Dylan Howard, did not bite and instead told Daniels to deal directly with then-Trump attorney Michael Cohen.

Cohen was slow to pay Daniels, though Howard pressed the then-Trump attorney to get the deal done. A few days later, Cohen made the payment.

Donald Trump appeared before a pro-Trump crowd in Waco, Texas for his latest election rally as his campaign kicks off. In front of that crowd, the former president complained about his worsening legal issues.

"Every piece of my personal life, financial life, business life, and public life has been turned upside down and dissected like no one in the history of our country," Trump said.

ABC-8 Local news reported that Trump mentioned several debunked pieces of information, claiming once again that the election was rigged despite him having no evidence to prove that point.

Trump also hit Bragg and Stormy Daniels, repeating his mockery of the former porn star as "Horse-Face" and denied any allegations of an affair. Trump was alleged to have slept with Daniels while Melania had just given birth to their son, Baron.
