Wimbledon 2014 Semifinals Live Stream, Preview, Schedule: Novak Djokovic vs Grigor Dimitrov, Roger Federer vs Milos Raonic
Novak Djokovic will collide with Grigor Dimitrov, while Roger Federer will face Milos Raonic in the semifinals of the 2014 Wimbledon on Friday at the All England Club.
Djokovic, who is looking to win his second Wimbledon title, is coming off a hard-earned win against 26th-seeded Marin Cilic 6-1, 3-6, 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-2 in their quarter-final showdown on Wednesday.
Against Dimitrov, the top-seeded Djokovic will be the favorite to win the match and advance to the final, but the eight-time Grand Slam champion is wary of his opponent.
Djokovic has ever reason to be wary of Dimitrov after the 11th-seeded Bulgarian dethroned Andy Murray with a 6-1, 7-6 (4), 6-2 win in the quarterfinals.
Dimitrov, who will be playing in his first Grand Slam semis, will look to prove that the young guns in the tennis circuit are now a threat to the perennial favorites.
"As one of the younger guys, I know that we strive for this, we're hungry for it. We want to prove ourselves, to show to the big guys that we're just around the corner," Dimitrov said via the Telegraph.
In the other semi-final match, fourth-seeded Federer will resume his quest for his first Grand Slam title since winning the 2012 Wimbledon.
Federer has been in fine form in the tournament and has only dropped a set in this year's Wimbledon, which came in his 3-6, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 win against compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka in the quarterfinals.
The eighth-seeded Raonic, on the other hand, vowed to spoil Federer's bid of ending his long drought, saying that he is not afraid and not intimidated by his opponent.
"I'm not playing the guy that's won whatever he's won, which I could probably list quite vividly," Raonic said via USA Today. "I'm playing a guy that is standing in my way of what I want to achieve, and I've got to focus on everything that's there, on the situation, how best to deal with it to give myself the best possibilities to achieve what I want."
