Chris Bosh admitted that money became a factor in his decision to stay with the Miami Heat despite getting strong interest from several teams like the Houston Rockets.

Bosh was reportedly leaning towards signing a four-year, $88 million deal with the Houston Rockets earlier in the offseason, but he opted to take the maximum five-year, $118 million offer from the Heat.

"It's always business," Bosh said via Sun Sentinel. "Nothing is ever personal. I think 100 percent of those dudes would have taken the deal I took."

The 30-year-old superstar was reportedly interested in becoming a part of a new big three in Houston with Dwight Howard and James Harden, but he reiterated that he felt he deserves to get the lucrative deal from the Heat.

"It's not always about money, but you do want your full market value," Bosh said. "If you work your butt off to get to a certain point, you want to be rewarded for that."

The Rockets actually looked poise in acquiring Bosh in July after LeBron James decided to leave the Heat in favor of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Houston made several roster moves, like trading Jeremy Lin to the Los Angeles Lakers, but they eventually failed in their bid to acquire the All-Star power forward.

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey admitted in a previous interview that he felt so close in forming one of the best teams in the league. But according to Bosh, he did not show any sign to any team that he was leaning towards accepting their contract offer.

"Everybody was aware, all parties were aware. It was always continuing conversations," Bosh said. "I never made any commitments. I never wanted to put anybody in the position to make them feel like I said something and I reneged on the whole thing. So I just kept it open. LeBron made his choice and then that kind of cleared things up, as far as negotiations are concerned."

Without James, Bosh, who averaged 16.2 points to go along with 6.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game last season, is expected to have an expanded role in the upcoming 2014-15 NBA season for the Heat.
