Jennifer Lopez opens up about her breakup with Marc Anthony in her new memoir, "True Love."

The Latina actress, who split with her husband in 2011, also revealed that she felt abused in past relationships.

"I've never gotten a black eye or a busted lip, but I've felt abused in one way or another: mentally, emotionally, verbally," she writes. "I know what it feels like for your soul to be diminished by the way your loved one is treating you."

She never reveals who the abuser was.

The pop singer and "American Idol" judge, also known as J. Lo, says in the book that she recalls feeling increasingly pressured to appear to have a perfect relationship. She suffered a panic attack during a photo shoot in Los Angeles and suddenly decided that she needed to end things with Anthony.

"As I sat there getting made up, my heart was beating out of my chest and I felt like I couldn't breathe... I became consumed with anxiety," she wrote.

Her mother was there during the experience. J. Lo said it was one of those moments where she was so scared that she couldn't even scream.

The 45-year-old actress writes that she turned to her mother and long-time manager Benny Medina, before bursting into tears, and said, "I don't think I can be with Marc anymore."

They split a month after her panic attack.

She also opens up about her relationships with Ojani Noa, Chris Judd and Ben Affleck.

Written in diary form, her book "True Love" will come out in November. It takes place during a time in her life when she had to face many challenges as an artist and a mother.

It was a delicate time when she was vulnerable, but managed to overcome her fears and became a stronger person.
