Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie says she never liked being in front of the camera and plans on focusing more on directing and humanitarian work.

Jolie worked on the set of "Unbroken," which will be released on Christmas Day. She said enjoyed the process of making the movie, about Olympian and WWII hero Louis Zamperini, so much that she might even consider making a career out of directing.

"I've never been comfortable as an actor; I've never loved being in front of the camera," Jolie tells Du Jour in a new cover story. "I didn't ever think I could direct, but I hope I'm able to have a career at it because I'm much happier."

She said she absolutely plans on retiring from in-front-of-the-camera work.

Although she does not appear in "Unbroken," Angelina and her husband Brad Pitt, together known as Brangelina, star in another film she has directed -- "By the Sea."

She also talked about directing the film.

"The tricky thing is directing myself and directing Brad. It's hard, dramatic material, and we're balancing. It's a heavy film, and it's not easy for us," she said.

"But even as you struggle through it, you're in the trenches together and you don't expect it to be easy. We're challenging each other and that's a really good thing."

The stunning actress will do a few more films before completely retiring.

Angelina and Brad's children want to try acting for a career. One of their daughters, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, played Little Aurora in Angelina's fantasy "Maleficent."

Vivienne received a big allowance for "Maleficent" and is the first of the Brangelina family to share a piece of the Hollywood spotlight.

If all their kids inherit their parents' Oscar-caliber talent, that might be one heck of a family business!
