Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is still determined to make his return to the ring in May, and Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya said that the former light middleweight champion is willing to face anybody next year.

De La Hoya said in his recent appearance on KTLA in Los Angeles that Alvarez has Miguel Cotto on top of his wish list, but the 24-year-old boxing superstar is also willing to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a rematch and Manny Pacquiao in another potential super fight in 2015.

"He wants to go and fight Miguel Cotto, he wants to fight Mayweather, he wants to fight Pacquiao," De La Hoya said via BoxingScene. "He wants to fight the top, top guys. This kid is 24 years old, he is going to be the next superstar in boxing for like the next 10 years."

Alvarez, who holds an impressive 44-1-1 record with 31 knockouts, previously said that he wants to take the Cinco De Mayo fight date away from Mayweather, which means that he wants to fight on May 2 next year.

Mayweather recently reiterated that he will also fight on Cinco De Mayo weekend next year, which created speculation that Alvarez might fight earlier than scheduled, but De La Hoya confirmed that Canelo's next fight will still be in May.

"Canelo still wants to fight in May, so he's going to fight in May," De La Hoya told RingTV. "Against who? We're going to start working on that. We're going to start working on getting him the perfect guy to make that a huge event on that weekend."

Cotto remains the most likely opponent for Alvarez in his next fight, considering the fact that both fighters have already expressed interest in facing each other next year.

Pacquiao is also an intriguing option, as a showdown between Canelo and the Filipino boxing icon could also generate huge revenue for Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, who are reportedly willing to end their cold war to make the fight happen in the future.

Pacquiao, who holds a 57-5-2 record with 38 knockouts, recently scored an impressive unanimous decision win over Chris Algieri to keep his World Boxing Organization welterweight title.
