Former Vice President Dick Cheney says the C.I.A. torture report is full of crap while Senator Mark Udall called the C.I.A. liars.

Cheney spoke on Fox News explaining that some of the enhanced interrogation tactics published in the report were previously tested and had produced results.

Meanwhile, Udall said that the C.I.A. is still covering up the truth about the use of harsh interrogation techniques.

Udall was among a group of Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee who continuously fought to have the report released to the public.

The group also threatened to read the report from the Senate floor to avoid persecution, just to ensure that outside people are aware of the C.I.A.'s treatment on prisoners.

"While the study clearly shows that the C.I.A.'s detention and interrogation program itself was deeply flawed, the deeper more endemic problem lies in a C.I.A. assisted by a White House that continues to try to cover up the truth," Udall said.

"Director [John] Brennan and the C.I.A. today are continuing to willfully provide inaccurate information and misrepresent the efficacy of torture."

Cheney defended certain harsh interrogations tactics like rectal hydration and waterboarding while saying that President George W. Bush was not misled about the tactics.

"What are you prepared to do to get the truth against future attacks against the United States?" Cheney asked.

"I think he [Bush] knew everything he wanted to know and needed to know," Cheney said.

"What happened here was that we asked the agency to go take steps and put in place programs that were designed to catch the bastards who killed 3,000 of us on 9/11 and make sure it never happened again, and that's exactly what they did," he said.

Officials believe that releasing the report would cause retaliation from militant groups, putting thousands of American lives at risk.

The report said that the techniques used on detainees were far worse than what the C.I.A. reported to lawmakers at the time.
