Last month, an article published by satirical website Empire News about first daughter Malia Obama's pregnancy sparked a wave of Internet frenzy from social media users who believed the story to be true.

In the article published on Nov. 28, Empire News' Angela Baker writes that the 16-year-old first daughter is in her second trimester and the Obamas are allegedly excited about Malia's bundle of joy being that teen pregnancy runs in their family.

Baker also goes as far as quoting Malia Obama saying that her baby's father is white, although her mother preferred that she get impregnated by a "nice mixed-race man like dad."

"Mom was probably right though. The dad already left me for some tramp. And of course, like all white men, my baby-daddy won't want to pay his child support. I already told him, 'You want to keep your license so you can drive that bleach-blond tramp around in your little Jaguar, right? Better step up," Baker claims Malia said.

Baker then concludes the article with another alleged quote from Malia who says that "MTV offered to give me my own show, 'White House Baby-Momma-Drama' or something stupidly titled like that. I was like, no way -- that's so white trash."

Following the publication of the article, social media users took to Twitter to slam Malia Obama for her alleged pregnancy.

But International Business Times now says that Empire News -- known for its satirical and false news stories -- published a fake news story on the first daughter.

Although Empire News has a reputation for publishing outlandish stories, the Malia Obama rumor gained traction after a Facebook account titled "Fox News Channel" perpetuated the story and readers confused the Facebook account with the actual Fox News network, BuzzFeed reports.

Empire News is also responsible for creating previous online hoaxes claiming Betty White had died and "Orange Is the New Black" was cancelled.

Now that the Malia Obama story is proven to be false, Twitter users are currently slamming Empire News for slandering the Obama name and legacy.
